Анотація. Мета статті – проаналізувати еволюцію підходів United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) до охорони культурної спадщини – від матеріальної до нематеріальної, документальної та цифрової. Автори зосереджують увагу на тому, наскільки розвиток технологій (технологічні процеси) та процеси глобалізації вплинули на зміну концепцій спадщини та формування нової культурної політики UNESCO.
Методологія дослідження. Для досягнення поставленої мети застосовано принципи хронологічної послідовності, аналітичного осмислення та критичного порівняння. Вони дали змогу класифікувати ключові документи UNESCO, простежити еволюцію її нормативно-правової бази та проаналізувати трансформацію ключових концепцій охорони культурної спадщини, починаючи з Конвенції 1972 року.
Наукова новизна полягає в тому, що запропонованим дослідженням здійснено спробу простежити переходу UNESCO від класичної парадигми охорони матеріальних пам’яток до комплексного розуміння спадщини, що включає нематеріальні практики, документальні ресурси та цифрові об’єкти.
Висновки. Концепції охорони культурної спадщини, сформовані UNESCO починаючи з 1972 року, залишаються актуальними. Проте, широкий спектр викликів, від яких залежить збереження історичної спадщини людства, призвели до суттєвої трансформації роботи Організації. Поняття «видатної універсальної цінності» розширилося – від матеріальної до нематеріальної, документальної та цифрової спадщини. Станом на сьогоднішній день збереження розглядається не лише, як фізичний захист об’єктів, а як комплексна діяльність із цифрової фіксації, передачі знань та забезпечення доступу до культурної пам’яті. Особливої уваги потребує роль цифрових технологій, які не лише змінюють методи збереження, а й формують нові практики взаємодії між інституціями, дослідниками та суспільством. Цифрова трансформація відкриває можливість для більшої інклюзивності у сфері культурної спадщини, роблячи її доступною для ширшого кола користувачів та майбутніх поколінь. Це формує нову парадигму відповідальності держав і спільнот за збереження спадщини в умовах цифрової епохи.
